Belonging, Being and Becoming: The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
This is our key curriculum document that forms the basis for our planning, assessment and reporting on children's learning. As a national framework, you will find it used in all childcare centres and kindergartens. Developed by the SA Department of Education and Children's Services, 'Keeping Safe: The Child Protection Curriculum is the document we used as the foundation for our Term 2 curriculum. The document provides a comprehensive overview of the langauge, activities and sequence of topics that are necessary to explore the idea of 'keeping safe' with young children, and contains resources and support documents for families. For families from non-English speaking backgrounds, there is information available in a limited number of languages here.

Family Services
Child and Youth Health provide a number of services which range from immunisation information to parenting advice. As a government operated kindergarten, we have a partnership with Child and Youth Health to provide health screenings for children aged above 4 years and 5 months conducted by a registered nurse ONSITE at the kindergarten. To book a health screening for your child , please speak to staff.

Are the core advocate group for early childhood education in Australia. Barbara Kiker Memorial Kindergarten is a Gold Service Member of Early Childhood Australia. They have a number of parent guides, information booklets and resources that are available to download or purchase.
